Meet Her

There's this girl that I've known for quite a long time. Long enough for me to know everything about her. I've been with her from our childhood days, up until now. I know every detail about her, from her looks, her flaws... everything.
Back then, she used to be so carefree. She does everything with enthusiasm, always excited to try new things. She was never afraid of failure because she knows that if she fails, then she will learn.
She always speaks up; gives her honest opinions and I swear, you'll never see a hint of hesitation coming from her. She never loses her confidence, it was always with her wherever she went. You know, if confidence was a person, it was probably her "best-est" friend. They were inseparable. I will never forget how she always volunteers to join activities; dancing, singing, contests --- and how she never regrets a thing if she didn't win.
She was as talkative as a curious toddler, there was never a day that she ran out of topic.

Time went by so fast, and sadly, so did her confidence. As I watch her grow into a lady, I also witnessed how the confident, enthusiastic and courageous her turned into a shy, insecure, and self-conscious teenager. Now, she tends to blend into the lockers, not wanting to be noticed.
She tends to stay quiet, keeping her opinions to herself when she really wants to let it out. Sometimes, she likes-- no, she loves it when she's alone. She's no introvert, nor an extrovert. There are just days that she wants to be left alone. I've seen how she became awkward, never starts any conversation anymore unlike before.
Remember when I told you she was never afraid? Well now, she is-- afraid of standing in front of a large crowd, she's afraid of making mistakes, afraid she might get rejected.
The confidence that she once had, is now nowhere to be found.
But God knows how much she wants it back. Trying to break down the walls and getting out of her shell. Be that confident girl that she once was.
I'm sharing this to give you a glimpse of her, of who she was, who she is, and who she wants to be. I wanted you to meet her--- I wanted you to meet me.
